Michael Jackman
Singer-Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist, & Poet

I’m a published poet, a singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, dobro, flute, penny whistle) based in New Albany, Indiana just across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky.

In 2022 I retired from a 17-year career teaching creative writing and composition writing at Indiana University Southeast.

I now write, maintain a small homestead with my wife and son, and perform music locally, most often with my Louisville-based band Crazy Chester.

I’m the author of the poetry chapbook, Letters from Spickert Knob (2022, Marian University), and the article, “Metre and meaning in Jane Kenyon’s ‘Song’” (New Writing: The International Journal for the Practice and Theory of Creative Writing). I’ve also written and published fiction and non-fiction, as well as poetry.

Thanks for visiting, and helping support local creative writers and musicians and this next chapter of my life!

Sincerely,

Michael
